WORKSHOP TO SHAPE GRADUATE’S IMAGE

As a measure to prepare the final-year graduates who will enter the workforce once they have completed their studies, Kolej Inpens Yayasan Selangor has organised a workshop entitled “Dressing for Success”.

According to the Head of Public Affairs, Rosniza Mohamad Rasol, the workshop has attracted more than 120 male students from the 2000/2001 enrolment.

The workshop is to train and shape the student to become a wholesome and disciplined person in terms of dressing,image and self-presentation.

She adds that through this workshop, students will learn the techniques and dress ethics that is in line with the college’s effort to groom quality graduates who will enter the workforce.

“The workshop was conducted by Christine Chow, Head of the Human Resources Division in Metrojaya Berhad, an experienced speaker in fashion”, replied Rosniza after the workshop.

Rosniza said that she has a qualification recognised by the Institute of Personnel & Development, UK and has a vast experience in management and corporate training in private organizations.

Christine Chow gave tips on the do’s and don’ts when dressing for an interview and the correct way of presenting oneself during an interview.

Saiful Yazan Abu Hasan, 22, a Semester 4 student majoring in Accountancy says that the workshop has also given him the confidence to interact with people when attending a job interview. “I am now more confident to dress up when attending a job interview”, he says after attending the workshop.

Year 2 of Office Administration student, Anuar Jaafar, 20, says that he is more confident to communicate with people when attending a job interview. “Before this, I thought it did not matter how one dresses because the important thing is the desire to get the job”, he replies.

Wan Indera Luthfi, 19, student of Semester 2, Accountancy, admits that he is ready to tackle any situation arises from job interviews in the near future. “I am more confident after attending the workshop and will make sure the way I present myself at the interview will secure myself a place in the organization”, he adds.
