Metrojaya Christmas Cheer 2005

Christmas is ever a time to show our concern and share some caring, and this year we did it with the orphans from Desa Amal Jireh in Kajang, Selangor.

We found the home through reading the Malay Mail which highlighted the needs and we thought we could help.

It was quite a simple affair which took place at  University College Sedaya International, with a food party and presents giving, and entertainment provided by (UCSI) Student Council member, Eric Teo. As the Christmas Elf, he helped Santa Ravi give out presents to the children. There was also a treasure hunt around the UCSI campus and carol singing by UCSI students who are spending Christmas in Malaysia.

Metrojaya Bhd’s general manager for advertising & promotions, Alice Tan thanked Sunday Mail for being in the forefront in highlighting the needs of charitable homes in Malaysia.

“Metrojaya carries out numerous outreach programmes to bring some joy to the children of these homes,” said Tan. “The reason why we always choose this year-end festive period is because this is the time of the year we always remember our loved ones to buy them gifts, but for those who are orphans, they have lost their loved ones.”
