METROJAYA CHARITY CAMPAIGN 2003 |
||
|
The Metrojaya Charity Campaign kicks off at all Metrojaya Stores on 1 December 2003 and will run through both Christmas and Chinese New Year, ending on 31 January 2004. As in previous years, Metrojaya is using the Tree as the vehicle to help raise funds. "In many cultures, the tree is a symbol of both growth and hope for a better future. Through it, we aim to generate donations for our beneficiaries." – Alice Tan, Manager Advertising and Promotions. For Christmas, a traditional conifer style Christmas tree will be "planted" at each of Metrojaya’s Department Stores and will be festooned with packets of "Crispy-O" biscuits donated by Network Foods Malaysia. Metrojaya is asking customers to give a minimum donation of RM2 to receive a packet of the biscuits. For the run up to Chinese New Year, a traditional Willow Tree will replace the Christmas tree to continue the donation drive. The beneficiaries of the Metrojaya Charity Campaign are the Good Samaritan Home, Klang and and the School Of Spastic, Batang Kali. Metrojaya also held a Christmas Party for children from the schools at Bukit Bintang Plaza on 16 December 2003. Highlights of the party were the giving of school bags & Christmas gifts, the cutting of the Christmas Cake and a presentation of Christmas Carols by children from the schools. |
